I had an interest in wildlife and conservation.

Travel and working with students from the U.S.A. and developing nations.

What are some personal challenges you have faced in your field?

Hard work and long hours, relatively low pay, extreme competition.

What does the future hold for your chosen field?

It will only increase with increasing human population and resource consumption.

What things can students do to prepare for a career in this field?

Take math, more math, then more math. Take public speaking courses early and do everything you can to get yourself in front of audiences. Do not be afraid to work in other parts of the world. In this field many of the best ideas are coming from other countries.
